This is the stunning art my wife Lynnai created as the cover to my rather torrid but (hopefully in your opinion) decently written fanfic, "Beautiful Jewel". This is planned to be the first book of three that try to tell the canon tale of Mindfang's Journals, and her encounters with Dolorosa, Dualscar, Redglare, Summoner and a few others. This first book focuses on Dolorosa finding herself a guest of the Marquise, and the kismesitude between Mindfang and Dualscar.

The art... well, I'll let it speak for itself. She tried to make these characters look as realistic as possible and she wanted to "up her game" as they say. I think she was successful on both counts. This piece took 32 hours to do (Mindfang's hair was about four hours alone). There was NO tracing whatsoever; this was freehand. No copics or gelpens used this time around, either.
