This is Lynnai's art to accompany my music track "sw33t cr33per", a unique piece for Nepeta. The song begins with elements from "Nine Lives, One Love", but in 33/8 time instead of 9/8 . Someone joked about someone doing a song for Nep in 33/8 because of her typing quirk. I took him seriously. This is the result: the name comes from the meter being 33/8 time and 33 bars long. It can be a little tricky to catch the rhythm, but it's better to just let it flow over you. :33
As the song has three distinct sections, so does the art. The first part, "The Dreamer" is of youthful Nepeta, so full of life and joyful potential. The second section, "The Hunter", shows the dangerous and savage beast she could be; a capable and talented huntress. The third element is "The Lover": as Rogue of Heart, Nepeta's desires are manifested in her adult form (which sadly, as far as we know at this point in the story, will not come to be).
The background features Alternia's two moons and a sky full of aurorae. Nepeta sits upon the roof of a hive, dreaming of the woman she'd like to be. The hair, eyes and aurorae are enhanced by gelpens, and their most dramatic addition is that of the blood of her kill still on her fingertips but also painted on her shoulder as a heart and a diamond: symbols of a master shipper! The aurorae also hint at the Leo symbol, resting behind the constellation itself.
It is a touch more risque than her previous pieces, but it speaks of the adult that Nepeta wanted to be. I hope you find it as exciting and provocative as I! We'd love to hear your comments on both the art and the song!
